Whether you are in the City of Racine or Franksville, Burlington, Mt. Pleasant or anywhere else in Racine County, this is the place to come together and talk all things Transition.
How are you currently involved in the Transition movement? If not involved currently, just state that.
Just getting my feet wet
What skills/talents/resources/interests do you bring to the Transition movement?
I am new to farm life and am trying to grow a green thumb. I am interested in permaculture, living sustainably and eventually teaching others what I am learning. Oh, and beekeeping.
What would you be interested in doing?
I would recommend Rob Hopkins's book, "The Transition Handbook", and Sharon Astyk's "Depletion and Abundance". I also like to look regularly at John Michael Greer's blog http://thearchdruidreport.blogspot.com/

Hi Nicole,
I will probably be it from Racine. I am working for awareness raising and hope to speak to a small group of Unitarians here this Sunday. Who knows? Someone might salute.

Hi Colleen,
Since the last time I left a comment, I became a new farmer, too. I'm helping to organize the Transition Training scheduled for late January, and look forward to meeting you then! Do you think others from Racine will be joining you?
Nicole
So you're planning to go for training in Stelle, IL? That's great! I don't know whether anyone from MKE is going. I'm sort of holding out for training that is supposed to happen in Madison this year, but it's not scheduled yet. Please let me/us know how it went, if you do go.
Welcome, Colleen! Great to have Racine represented here. Feel free to invite friends and neighbors, start discussions, start a Group for your area, etc. Let me know if I can help.
