Barb -

Noticed your pictures on vermicomposting. I has a couple questions. I am getting ready to harvest for the first time - any recommendations on how to do that? I got my worms and original bedding from Growing Power. What do you recommend for bedding? The class I took recommended newspaper and my current bed is Growing Power compost.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Feel free to contact me at ottmant@mac.com

Thanks

Hi Barb! Glad to see you here! Did you get a copy of the Handbook? This movement is really exciting, and fits well with the ideas you were posting on the PSF yahoo list a couple months back about important skills for the future. Please also join Transition WISE (see the Groups menu) where we can organize and discuss activities specific to the Milwaukee area. Also please note our next meeting -- see Events. Hope to see you there!

It's important for the future of the human race, including my children. And I like the positive, hopeful approach of Rob Hopkins' book.
How are you currently involved in the Transition movement? If not involved currently, just state that.
Learning, reading the Handbook, meeting w/neighborhood group re: gardening, doing my own gardening, reading up on biodynamics, working on "building resilience" in my kids, brainstorming in my own little mind.
What skills/talents/resources/interests do you bring to the Transition movement?
I'm open to doing informational workshops on renewable energy, particularly solar, since that is my area of expertise. Also interested in exchanging seeds/seedlings, teaching about vermicomposting, possibly participating in a neighborhood home improvement co-op.
